This course taught me how to look at a company's annual report to understand the health of the company, and how to use some tools to value the business. There are some methods that can be used to evaluate the future value of your investment in a project, such as whether it is more cost-effective to rent or buy a house in your current economic situation, etc., which is a course that can be immediately put into practice!

Spring 2023 student

In 2021, I started my own entrepreneurial path, and when I heard that the school had launched an MBA program, I signed up to participate in the study, hoping to avoid detours on my entrepreneurial path. In the first semester of the "Financial and Management Accounting for Decision-making" course, I learned that there are too many uncontrollable factors affecting us in the real business environment. Through the study of the course, it helps me to make more rational and scientific judgments and trade-offs.

My company does training, how do I price a course product when it's launched? I used to pat my head and think, everyone thought it was about the same, so I set a price.
The cost-benefit analysis in the course "Financial and Management Accounting for Decision-making" has brought me new ideas, and I have learned to analyze the cost structure, judge the pricing strategy and other key operations. In the past, we relied on intuition to make decisions, but now with scientific tools and methods, we will get practical help and achieve better benefits when we operate!

Joe Wu

Student in the Fall 2022 class

I am currently responsible for HSBC's Private Wealth Planning Guangdong Dongguan Branch, and as a key city, I need to recruit 60 private wealth planners in the next year. As a new first-tier city, Dongguan is still relatively short of talents, which brings great challenges to recruitment.
In Prof. Guohua Huang's Human Resource Management course, our group discussed and explored my solutions to my recruitment challenges. Drawing on theories such as competency model, "personnel-position" matching, and "personnel-organization" matching, the candidates' professional competency, work experience and company culture fit are comprehensively examined through online assessments, interviews and other links. With the help of third-party professional channels such as headhunting agencies, the number and quality of recruitment have increased.
